» PreBraille & Braille

PreBraille skills are skills designed to increase tactual awareness and perception in individuals who will learn to read and write Braille in the future.

Prebraille skills are physical and sensory: tactile perception, fine motor skills, particularly finger and hand movements, and ability to identify Braille characters.

Skills to build include:
  • concepts such as same and different;
  • tactual awareness and perception;
  • fine motor such as exploring objects with hands and using hands cooperatively.
In order to learn Braille, the blind student must have a specific level of cognitive development, psihomotricity, language and tactile discrimination.
